An electronic goods declaration is a declaration completed by a customs broker using specialized software and submitted through the customs online portal. Submitting an electronic customs declaration significantly simplifies interactions with customs authorities and reduces the time it takes to release goods.

The average processing time ranges from 4 hours to 2 business days, depending on the nature of the cargo, the accuracy of the customs declaration, the completeness and quality of the attached documents, the need for additional documentary verification, requests and clarifications, as well as the use of forms of actual control within the risk management system (inspection, examination, sampling and specimen collection, etc.).

The EAEU TN VED code is a classification code for the unified commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union. The code structure is based on the decimal system and includes:

  • Group code — the first two digits of the code;
  • Commodity heading code — four digits;
  • Subheading code — six digits;
  • Subheading code — ten digits.

The declared product code is used to determine:

  • the customs duty rate, i.e., duties and taxes payable to the Russian Federation budget;
  • Product requirements: submission of permits (licenses, regulatory approvals, etc.), product certification in accordance with technical regulations of the EAEU or the Russian Federation, mandatory product labeling, and traceability requirements.

If your cargo is detained, you must:

  • Check the reasons for the detention with the customs authority;
  • Provide additional documents, if required;
  • Pay all required duties and taxes;
  • If there are any errors in the documentation, make corrections.
